Current State of Eviction Moratoriums

On Thursday, August 26, 2021, the U.S. Supreme Court voted 6-3 to overturn a CDC Order that had extended a nationwide eviction moratorium an additional two months - from August 3, 2021 to October 3, 2021. However, this Monday, August 30, 2021, the Illinois Supreme Court amended its previous Order, extending a temporary stay on evictions in this State through September 18, 2021.
